WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?
Chiropractic is a health care profession that specializes in disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health.

Every body has a bony spine surrounding the spinal cord and a skull encasing the brain. The spinal cord and nerves carry billions of messages to the body and back to the brain. Without this communication, life would end. Any interruption of these messages can create malfunction of the body or dis-ease. This can lead to or cause many different pain symptoms, disorders or threats to a healthy body.

Chiropractors identify misalignment of the spine and other joints, which interrupt or obstruct the messages between the brain and body. We call these misalignment subluxations.

Part of Chiropractic is the belief that the human body has the ability to heal itself, as long as there is no interference of the nervous system. By finding and fixing subluxations, chiropractors are able to restore proper communication between the brain and body and then allow the body to heal itself without the use of drugs, surgery or any invasive procedures.

Chiropractic is a safe, natural and effective form of health care and is appropriate for patients of all ages. Chiropractic care is not only used for the spine, but also for all joints of the body, including knees, hips, shoulders, wrists and even the jaw. Chiropractic is not solely used for pain relief, as it is imperative to have a healthy functioning nervous system in order to have a healthy, disease free body.
